15/09/2009 - FOOD 4U Video Festival - Jesolo 18 to 22 September 2009

Friday, September 18th to get to Jesolo about 500 students and high school teachers from 16 European countries finalists Food 4U Project of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry. From September 18 to 22 children will visit our city, Treviso and Venice and will be organized for their activities and moments of study on healthy nutrition; learn how to cook our dishes and know the products of our agriculture. In the three evenings of 19, 20 and 21 will take place on the FOOD 4U Video Festival with the screening of the video finalists in the competition. The video festival on 19 and 21 is held in Jesolo in the amphitheater of the Piazza Aurora (in case of rain at the Teatro Vivaldi). Admission is free. FOOD 4U Project Objectives: FOOD 4U is an awareness campaign, sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Representation in Italy at the European Commission to offer a chance to meet the need and importance of a conscious, healthy and proper nutrition school students from 16 European countries (AustRia - Belgium - Denmark - Finland - France - Germany - Great Britain - Greece - Italy - Luxembourg - Norway - Netherlands - Portugal - Spain - Sweden - Hungary). The chosen target group - young Europeans between 14 and 19 years - play a ' strategic importance as the boys are not only able to influence family purchases, but also make those choices in person, thanks to their greater spending power than before. New generations (defined as born to buy) is now, if properly informed, an effective vehicle for penetration into the eating habits of all families. Raise awareness among young people about their relationship with food and make more evident the importance of a balanced to combat rampant obesity problem has become a problem felt in all countries and the direct involvement of adolescents may be the answer. Precisely for this purpose was established 5 years ago, the Food 4U campaign, which aims to highlight the role of children in the importance of good food choices. An international jury pre-selection identifies two best spots for each of the 16 countries involved in the initiative. Students and teachers from 38 school groups, authors of selected videos are invited to attend an award stay at a place, a symbol of the Mediterranean diet, which will be held in September 2009. During their stay the more than 500 young Europeans how to compete, inquire and attend preview screenings of the video advertisement and its backstage finalists of the competition.
